*Our Code of Ethics:
To keep each of our meetings safe and productive, we:
Communicate our views honestly and respectfully on issues raised, especially controversial ones. We do not raise our voices, stoop to sarcasm, cuss, or try to bully others into our way of thinking.
Are tolerant when we differ. We share our meeting time fairly so that each of us has an equal opportunity to comment.
Are willing to put our egos aside when our opinions do not win favor with others. We are able to let go, trust our group conscience, and strive for the “unity and harmony that our Fellowship requires for the successful accomplishment of its primary purpose. Our service structure exists to support us” (per concept 6, from our draft ‘Framework for Living’) and works for the greater good.
Encourage one another by doing our part to maintain a safe and supportive atmosphere.
These points have proved to be our blueprint for success. We ask your cooperation in continuing these traditions as we work together in the coming months. Thank you for contributing your time and talents. Your Twelfth Step work is deeply appreciated!

Robert's Rules of Order are to be used in biz Meetings (3/11/99). Also: Please note how Robert’s rules of order are to be used: “In the interest of tackling all of the items on this agenda and allowing everyone the opportunity to speak on the extremely important topics, suggest the following format in this meeting: Each topic under New Business will begin with a motion being made: That motion will then either be seconded or set aside. Upon the motion being seconded, discussion will begin. During discussion, only friendly amendments will be accepted to the motion. An amendment will be considered a friendly amendment if the original provider of the motion concurs with the amendment. Everyone will be allowed one share on each motion presented. Motion from neveah (representing Lotus) re extra donation to SLAA FWS - APPROVED
Motion: To send one-time extra donation of $200 to SLAA FWS
Motivation: Our current funds (current balance circa $1000) permit sending an extra donation of $200 to SLAA FWS, whilst still retaining sufficient funds to cover foreseeable regular group costs, costs for annual delegate to SLAA ABC/M, regular monthly donation of $10 to SLAA FWS, and prudent reserve of $160.

<+samSsa> I wanted to try to have a motion, perhaps to be discussed in the next business meeting about special groups - like male groups, professional group, particular struggle, internet porn, chat, massage etc, mid age people group. I know this sounds a bit divisive but I think i would see it as remedial classes - some of us need to catch up and need that extra boost of recovery focussed on our particular addiction pattern. There are many meetings now of sex addiction on IRC and we should take advantage of it.
<@neveah> I had recently spoken with another Op about potentially restarting an anorexia focus meeting. I'm not sure if anyone here remembers when this room used to have a regularly scheduled anorexia focus meeting but I think there was one going on a few years ago. However, I like the idea of making some of our meetings here at #slaa focused on particular topics/patterns/etc. Our room has been very vibrant lately and would love to hear what other people think about this kind of thing.
<+Lyndon> I agree with the above, I think a few select meetings that may be more specific to certain addiction types or just based on situations of our addiction. I know some of the meetings can be step topic focused. Is there room on the IRC servers for addition rooms?
<+Jan> When I first joined I added all the different whatsapp groups that have different addiction focuses - but I found that I really got more out of hearing how others addictions have affected them, and different areas of this disease that I might not have thought of. I like the idea of more focused topics and additional step work meetings - but I also enjoy us all being together and hearing others ESH on their own specific addiction patternes - but there might be something to having an all women's or all men's group once a month. It's hard to talk about some things with the opposite sex sometimes, and it might help ppl be more open and honest about some sexual patterns.
<+Sol> I would like a focused meetings on the Steps with excerpts of the Steps - the anorexia steps or the regular SLAA steps.
<@neveah> Anyone is free to email the office with a motion they'd like to place on the agenda for next month.
