Motion from Lotus re SLAA ABC/M 2017

That links to the SLAAFWS Website, of the SLAAFWS Annual Business Conference/Meeting Agenda and Appendices (2017), be posted on the SLAAOnline Website.

Motion from Lotus re Discussion of SLAA ABM Agenda items

Motion that 15 minutes of every business meeting of SLAA Online Apr-Jun 2017 be spent reviewing and discussing the SLAA ABM Agenda items, with voting on approving each piece of literature, or not, to take place at the June business meeting (the delegate will carry our vote to the ABM).

Motion from cayotejoes re use of non-SLAA conference approved literature in meetings

(1) That members avoid bringing AA (and other 12 step group materials) into SLAA, as a whole, unless it is reformatted and refocused on the s addiction (and not on alcoholism), and where an AA excerpt is utilized, that it be formatted in accordance with the SLAA format

(2) As a general guideline, that only SLAA conference approved literature be used at meetings.

Motivation for motion:

In this way, SLAA Online will firmly uphold the following traditions:

SLAA online tradition: The opening script states “You are reminded that this is a CLOSED meeting, which means that it is ONLY open to those who want recovery from sex and love addiction.”

SLAA Tradition Three: The only requirement for S.L.A.A. membership is a desire to stop living out a pattern of sex and love addiction. Any two or more persons gathered together for mutual aid in recovering from sex and love addiction may call themselves an S.L.A.A. group, provided that as a group they have no other affiliation.

SLAA/ AA affiliation clarification from St. Augustine group, 1985: Permission to reprint and adapt the Twelve Traditions does not mean that A.A. is affiliated with this program. A.A. is a program of recovery from alcoholism only. Use of the Twelve Traditions in connection with programs and activities, which are patterned after A.A., but which address other problems, does not imply otherwise. ©1985 The Augustine Fellowship, S.L.A.A., Fellowship-Wide Services, Inc. All Rights Reserved. The Twelve Traditions are reprinted and adapted with permission of Alcoholics Anonymous World Services, Inc.

Motion from NancyD re: color of typed text in the SLAA chat room

Motion to add the following script to the OP scripts, available for Ops to use at their discretion:

"Please use standard black type when typing in the SLAA chat room. Colored type is more difficult to read on small screens such as phones. Thanks for your cooperation!"
